Living in beautiful North Wales provides ample opportunity to fulfil my passion for photography.
There is no shortage of fantastic scenery to shoot, and no shortage of dramatic weather to provide
a suitable backdrop. There's always plenty going on, plenty to photograph, and plenty of people wanting high quality portrait photographs. North Wales is a busy, developing area close to Shropshire, Cheshire and the North West of England. A further benefit - the Lake District is only a couple of hours away.
Shooting in RAW format allows the maximum resolution from the camera, and provides the flexibility only previously attained with film and a home darkroom. Monitor calibration is a must, and is taken care of with GretagMacbeth equipment, enabling reliable colour rendering whether printed here, or off-site.
I use a Canon EOS 40D digital body, Canon and Sigma lenses, Manfrotto supports and heads, and Hoya filters (UV and polarising) with Cokin ND graduated filters. I print using an Epson printer and only genuine Epson paper, and sub-contract printing on paper larger than A4. Storage and transport is taken care of with LowePro storage.
